Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that releases the fascial system. MFR works by applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain, restore motion, and restore health to the surrounding tissues.
Fascia, also called connective tissue is composed of collagenous fibers. The entire body is connected in fascia, forming a 3-D crystalline matrix of connective tissue. It is the primary communication system of the body. It has been found that the fascial system has instantaneous communication, 20,000 times the speed of light. Fascia is a superconductor of consciousness, memories and emotions.
Fascial restrictions occur in injury, trauma, repetitive motion, poor posture, inflammation and scar tissue. These restrictions can exert forces of up to 2,000 pounds of pressure per square inch on the body’s sensitive tissues, organs, nerves, and blood vessels. These restrictions can become tighter over time, sending symptoms throughout the body. If left untreated, these symptoms often progress to the point of chronic pain syndrome and disease.
Releases conditions: headaches and migraines, fibromyalgia, neck and back pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, TMJ syndrome, restriction in motion, stress and tension related problems, scoliosis, Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological disorders, post-surgical dysfunction, scar tissue, shoulder/arm pain, hip/knee/foot pain, orthopedic problems, sports injuries, physical/psychological trauma.
MFR treats the cause of the problem, not just the symptoms, and works deeply at the fascial level to have profound, powerful, lasting effects of healing. It will help free not only the physical restrictions, but also the associated emotions. Benefits include decreased pain, restoration of motion, relaxation of the mind and body. Craniosacral therapy is included in the multitude of myofascial release techniques. We work on the whole 3-dimensional body to release all restrictions that are attached to the symptoms which results in permanent elimination of symptoms.
